It’s October….so you know what that means! Pumpkin month! You probably didn’t realize that adding a bit of pumpkin puree and a little pumpkin pie spice to your smoothie would be so delicious. Well it is and its super healthy too! A nice change to the traditional spinach smoothie I enjoy so often! Comfort food in smoothie form….my kinda smoothie! If you’re not a huge smoothie person, try adding the puree and spice to your oatmeal, you will be thanking me!
with some spinach added…
1 frozen banana
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1 cup cashew, almond milk (or any preferred milk) or vanilla greek yogurt
1 heaping tablespoon nut butter
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
optional: 1 cup spinach (for those wanting greens), 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 2 tablespoons maple syrup (if you like it sweet!)
optional toppings: granola, cacao nibs, fruit, nuts or seeds
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
