Oaties are a staple in our house and one of the most requested healthy snacks! I love this version… the combination of tart cherry and chocolate is the best! I make a huge batch weekly and store in the freezer and believe it or not we eat them straight out of the freezer. If you have the least bit of patience (we don’t) wait 10 minutes before consuming! Also perfect for an on the go breakfast or snack. enJOY!
Chocolate Cherry Oaties
3 bananas ripened
2 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 tablespoon cinnamon
½ cup dried cherries
½ cup dark chocolate chips (I use Enjoy Life’s)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mash bananas in a large mixing bowl. Add oats and cinnamon and mix well. Add cherries and chocolate chips, and mix until combined.
Using a small cookie scoop, scoop mixture into balls and place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. You can bake in ball form or flatten with a fork. I do it both ways depending on my mood! It’s a matter of personal preference.
Bake for about 40 minutes. I like them crispy! If you like softer cookies bake for 30 minutes. Cool, serve and enJOY!
