It’s been a long time since I posted anything other than a recipe and after this past Saturday night’s dining experience I thought it was time. So here goes…If you live in New York, or are ever visiting, you should check out UPLAND. My idea of a great restaurant. Loved everything about it! Beautiful build out, friendly staff, casual, not stuffy atmosphere, fabulous menu and most importantly delicious food! Not one complaint all around. We met cousins from New City and we were all delightfully pleased with everything we ordered. It’s refreshing to be able to enjoy a meal where the service is without one bit of attitude, without pressure and with such a perfect menu. Something for everyone! We shared 3 appetizers as the portions were huge! See photos below for what we had, and sorry but before I was able to snap a pic of dessert, it was gone in a flash!

    The Apps…

We shared the kale and sausage pizza, with young pecorino, stracciatella & parmigiana and even my kale hating husband loved it!IMG_0796

The five lettuce caesar  salad was also a hit! Delicious  bordeaux radish & garlic anchovy vinaigrette !IMG_0798

The whole crispy mushroom was the bomb. Our non eating mushroom cousin loved loved loved it…not a hint that you would ever know it was mushroom! Divine hen of the woods, cloumage + herbs.IMG_0804

    Our Mains…

My husband Larry and I both had the Upland copping which was a scrumptious bowl of clams, red shrimp, mussels, striped bass, jumbo lump crab & gochujang. Nice and spicy! Served with the most incredible crusty bread for dipping!IMG_0803

Sindi had the Pappardelle with spicy sausage ragù, kale & parmigiana, a sure hit!IMG_0801

Elliot had the Creekstone farms skirt steak romesco & bunching onions! Wow is all I have to say!IMG_0800

Yes, after all that there was even dessert! We shared the Apple Crostata with not 1 but 2 scoops of ice cream! Crispy, buttery deliciousness!

So if ever you have the chance, check this spot out, it’s a home run!!
