Smoothie Bowls are really special, a little bit ice cream, a little bit smoothie with none of the bad sugars that come with store bought ice cream and smoothies. You know exactly what you’re putting into your body and you can add the most delicious healthy toppings to make the whole experience even better! My smoothie bowl and smoothie recipes are just guidelines so feel free to add any healthy fruit, nut or veggie ingredients you have on hand.
1 cup frozen chopped spinach
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 frozen banana (I keep these in the freezer cut up into pieces)
1 heaping tablespoon of your favorite nut butter ( I use Trader Joes Better N Butter)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 -1 1/4 cups water (depending on how thick you like, add less because you can always add more)
Toppings: 1/2 sliced banana, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 3 tablespoons my Cinnamon Granola (or whatever you have, mine is super healthy!)
In a personal blender or bullet (I use Nutri Ninja 900, see below to order), add spinach, blueberries, 1/2 frozen banana, peanut butter, cinnamon and water and pulse until blended. You may need to add a little water. Do so in small increments to achieve desired consistency.
Pour into bowl and top with chia seeds, granola and sliced banana. EnJOY!
